Great Transformations
I haven’t blogged for awhile and I am sorry. I have been so busy with clients, shows and the normal day to day workings of a diet coach. But I thought it was time to share a couple of great transformations that 2 of my clients have made in this last year. I do a lot of work with figure competitors and I seem to always write more stuff out there for the ladies so this time I thought that I would write something for my men bodybuilders. Both of these clients are bodybuilders and both have done so well and made me so proud.
First, we have Dickens Fenelon from New York! Here is a guy who just wanted to lose weight and look better. He did so well on the program that he was encouraged to pursue a dream of getting on stage and compete in his first bodybuilding contest last weekend. His progress and transformation are truly amazing and inspiring.

Dickens last year and Dickens just last weekend before winning his class at the 2009 NPC Long Island Bodybuilding and Figure Championships.
Next here is a guy that I helped put on some weight and then get shredding for his last bodybuilding contest, the 2009 California State Championships. His name is James Anderson. James has been more than dilligent with his diet, cardio and workouts. I am so proud fo him for never complaining and doing exactly what I have on his plans. He is truly a great student and a great guy! And… James placed second in his weight class at the 2009 NPC California State Championships. Congrats buddy!

Rocky Nehk, who has been with me for a few years and every year he competes he just does better and better. Great job Rocky! Rocky competed in the Light Heavy Weight class this year and the Masters over 40. He took 3rd in the Open LHW and 2nd in the Masters over 40. Great job Rock-Man!

This next competitor over came all kinds of challenges this past few months just to compete in this show. My hat is off to Rebecca Timms. You are a trooper and then some. She competed and did so well. Just a little more work and she will be winning these classes. Great job Rebecca, I am so proud of you.
Lorna Cavin, here is a woman who has more tenacity and spunk that most would know what to do with. I absolutely love her attitude toward competing and life. She is a woman after my own heart. Great job Lorna and this year isn’t over for her. Next stop will be the Boarder States and the Tournament of Champions! I am positive she will come out a winner. At the LA she placed 2nd in the figure over 35, great job!
And finally, Shellie Campbell. What can I say about her…she has been an inspiration to watch and to help. She works, takes care of children and she has such a wonderful attitude toward her training and dieting all the time. She doesn’t complain and she tries her best. She has consistently gotten better over the past couple outings, and this time she took home a 4th place finish in the Open figure A class. Congrats Shellie, you deserve this win!

Yes folks we will be at this coming weekend’s 2008 NPC California State Bodybuilding and Figure Championships in Culver City, CA. It will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium and this year there will also be an IFBB Pro Figure competition held in conjunction with it. It is looking like this will be a great show. Jon Lindsay, the promoter, has opened the NPC Cal State championships to all competitors from other states who wish to compete. This will be the first year doing this and it should make the contest a larger and more exciting show.
This year’s 2008 Emerald Cup Bodybuilding Championships was a great show. Our own competitors did well this year. Shawna Kondo placed 5th in the A Class figure competition. Glenda Sheppard placed 3rd in the women’s over 35 bodybuilding competition, and Lorna Cavin placed 7th in the women’s over 40 figure class. The show was a success and everyone came away with a warm and positive experience. The show was highly competitive in almost every figure and bodybuilding classes. This show continues to prove itself to be a very tough national qualifier. Congrats to all my team who competed and to all the competitors who made it to the show.

Yes folks it is finally here. Our instructional figure posing DVD is finally out and shipping. In our instructional figure posing DVD we instruct you on traditional figure quarter turns, stage presence, hair, make-up, suit and shoe selection. We shot this DVD as a tool for you to be able to use over and over again to brush up on how to display your physique in the best way possible on stage. We also explain what to expect at an NPC figure show and what to be prepared for. Practice always helps competitors look better and better and this is a great tool for the figure competitor to use to continually rehurse for contest day. This DVD is now available at our web store, you can go directly to the item on our store at:
I have attended this show for many years now and I have to say, both as a coach and a competitor…this is one of the best run shows in the country. Brad Craig, the promoter of this show, really knows how to take care of the athletes who come to his show to compete. This year the show will be held April 18-19th with all of the figure and fitness judging and finals on Friday morning and evening, and all of the bodybuilding prejudging and finals on Saturday. This year there will be Victor Martinez, Melvin Anthony, and Dennis Wolf guest posing. It should stack up to be a wonderful show with lots of excitement. Also, the Emerald Cup hosts an Expo with vendors and free stuff. While it isn’t as big as the Arnold (what is?), it is a nice added touch to come away with a few freebies. Also, Bernadette Marturano, INBF figure Pro and myself will be giving a short figure posing seminar this weekend also. If you are in the Seattle Area this time of the year go to this show, it will be worth it.
