Great Transformations

I haven’t blogged for awhile and I am sorry. I have been so busy with clients, shows and the normal day to day workings of a diet coach. But I thought it was time to share a couple of great transformations that 2 of my clients have made in this last year. I do a lot of work with figure competitors and I seem to always write more stuff out there for the ladies so this time I thought that I would write something for my men bodybuilders. Both of these clients are bodybuilders and both have done so well and made me so proud.

First, we have Dickens Fenelon from New York! Here is a guy who just wanted to lose weight and look better. He did so well on the program that he was encouraged to pursue a dream of getting on stage and compete in his first bodybuilding contest last weekend. His progress and transformation are truly amazing and inspiring.

Dickens last year and Dickens just last weekend before winning his class at the 2009 NPC Long Island Bodybuilding and Figure Championships.

Next here is a guy that I helped put on some weight and then get shredding for his last bodybuilding contest, the 2009 California State Championships. His name is James Anderson. James has been more than dilligent with his diet, cardio and workouts. I am so proud fo him for never complaining and doing exactly what I have on his plans. He is truly a great student and a great guy! And… James placed second in his weight class at the 2009 NPC California State Championships. Congrats buddy!

Figure Posing Clinic Success

We just completed our 2nd Championship Figure Weekend Posing Clinic on Feb 6-8th. It was a great success. We love offering these posing clinics for anyone who wants one-on-one figure posing help. All the ladies who attended the clinic got lots of help and had a full Saturday’s worth of activities. Some of the festivities included figure posing and comparison practice, one-on-one figure counseling with Tad Inoue the Diet Coach, body composition testing, workout with Bernadette Marturano, cardio sessions, and our famous cheat meal! This past clinic was lots of fun and everyone had a fantastic time.

We would like to thank everyoneFeb 09 Figure Clinic who attended and who made it possible for us to do. We would also like to give a special thanks to Mary Nguyen at www.BodyWellNutrition.com for some of the great gifts that all the ladies received in their gift bags. Thank you all again we will continue to do these in the future. However, we may limit some of these in the up coming months becuase Bernadette and I are expecting a baby girl in early July 09. So needless to say, Bernadette who is critical to the success of these clinics, will have to limit her activity on posing and working out. Sorry, but we will be back in action full force after July 09. We are planning a day class soon for all you figure ladies who are interested. Keep watching our store for details (Saturday Posing Classes)

Tad the Diet Coach at the 2008 IFBB North American Championships

Yes it is me your fearless leader and diet coach, Tad Inoue. Last weekend I competed in the heavy weight class at the 2008 IFBB North American bodybuilding championships. It was a great show and I enjoyed this year’s competition not only as a spectator and coach but also as a competitor. Hats off to Gary Udit for putting on another good show.

This year I tried to drop into the light heavyweight class but was not able to get the last 5 lbs off the scale. I ended up weighing in at 202 lbs on the early Thursday afternoon weigh-in. I was content to compete in the heavier class though. I know I had suffered enough to get myself down to this weight anyway. The heavy weight class this year was the larges with 32 competitors in it. I was very pleased with a 12th place finish with the line up this year. This year I felt I lost some fullness in my muscles by forcing my weight down like this. I know I would have faired a bit better if I had more quad fullness and muscle roundness that I lost during my drying out process the week before the show. I also felt my conditioning was a little off in some areas because my muscles weren’t as full this year. None the less, I was very happy with what I learned this year and I know that I will be better at my next show and in future shows because of this experience.

At the end of the day, every competitor must be happy with winning or losing. Nobody wins all the time, but most importantly, you learn everything from losing and nothing from winning. You will see me on stage again…

Team Tadster at the 2008 NPC LA Championships

I want to say a big congratulations to all my team who competed in this years NPC 2008 Los Angeles Bodybuilding and Figure Championships. Everyone placed and took home hardware! You all worked very hard and you deserved it! You are all true champions in my book.

Here are a few of the team that did well, my special congratulations to them for a weekend of winning:

Rocky Nehk Rocky Nehk, who has been with me for a few years and every year he competes he just does better and better. Great job Rocky! Rocky competed in the Light Heavy Weight class this year and the Masters over 40. He took 3rd in the Open LHW and 2nd in the Masters over 40. Great job Rock-Man!

Robin Tharldson

Another fantastic job goes out to Robin Tharaldson. She has been with me for well over a year and has made some remarkable strides in adding muscle this last year. Great job to her this last weekend by placing 3rd in the over 45 figure class. Robin you deserve this win. Great job!

Cindy Beard

Cindy Beard is a very hard working gal. We have done 2 successful outings now and she is such a wonderful competitor and is a delight to work with weekly. She came all the way from Texas to compete and did awesome. Cindy placed 4th in the Open figure B class and looked fantastic. Next year Jr Nationals for her, and I expect her to really do some damage!
Rebecca TimmsThis next competitor over came all kinds of challenges this past few months just to compete in this show. My hat is off to Rebecca Timms. You are a trooper and then some. She competed and did so well. Just a little more work and she will be winning these classes. Great job Rebecca, I am so proud of you.

Lorna CavinLorna Cavin, here is a woman who has more tenacity and spunk that most would know what to do with. I absolutely love her attitude toward competing and life. She is a woman after my own heart. Great job Lorna and this year isn’t over for her. Next stop will be the Boarder States and the Tournament of Champions! I am positive she will come out a winner. At the LA she placed 2nd in the figure over 35, great job!

Shellie CampbellAnd finally, Shellie Campbell. What can I say about her…she has been an inspiration to watch and to help. She works, takes care of children and she has such a wonderful attitude toward her training and dieting all the time. She doesn’t complain and she tries her best. She has consistently gotten better over the past couple outings, and this time she took home a 4th place finish in the Open figure A class. Congrats Shellie, you deserve this win!

It was a great night for all the team who competed and I want to say thank you again to all of you who competed. You make my job so much fun and you enrich my life more than you know. Thank you for being there for me, as I promise to be there for you whenever you need me.

Team Tadster Wins at the 2008 Cal State

Well this Memorial Day weekend was a great weekend for Team Tadster competitors at the 2008 NPC California State bodybuilding and figure Championships. First, I would like to congratulate all my competitors on all the fantastic work and effort that I know all of you put into this show. In every show more people walk away without a trophy than with one and the only rewards that come from doing a contest are often very personal. So I would like to personally recognize all my competitors who may not have walked away with any trophies but who, I know, are champions. You all did a fantastic job.

At this year’s show I would like to say a special congrats to Shawna Kondo and Nathan Rench. Both have overcome quite a bit to place at this show. Shawna Kondo placed won the A figure class, while Nathan Rench placed 5th in the Light Heavy Weight class. You both did very well in spite of your very busy work schedules and personal challenges.

(Above is Nathan Rench and Shawna Kondo)

Also, a special congratulations to Renee Prouse, who competed in the figure F class and to Jameson Stone who also competed this weekend in the men’s middle weight class.

(above is Renee Prouse and Jameson Stone)

I have written my coverage of this show in my forum. I have also written coverage on the IFBB Pro California show held at the same event. Both of these events turned out to be high capacity this year. Congrats to all my competitors and to everyone who competed.

2008 NPC California State Championships, we will be there!

Cal State PosterYes folks we will be at this coming weekend’s 2008 NPC California State Bodybuilding and Figure Championships in Culver City, CA. It will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium and this year there will also be an IFBB Pro Figure competition held in conjunction with it. It is looking like this will be a great show. Jon Lindsay, the promoter, has opened the NPC Cal State championships to all competitors from other states who wish to compete. This will be the first year doing this and it should make the contest a larger and more exciting show.

I will be there with some of my competitors and we will be supporting all who choose to compete. This year I will not only be there for my competitors spray tanning them at the show but if any other competitors wish this service I am happy to offer this to them at the show for a fee. I have posted a list of all the show services that we are offering on my forum board under the “Figure and Bodybuilding” board and the sticky post “Competition Services.” You can directly there: http://www.tadthedietcoach.com/forum/viewtopic.php?TopicID=352

Hope to see you all there. And for all those competing this year…good luck and have a great show!

Stan Efferding wins 2008 Emerald Cup

This year’s 2008 Emerald Cup Bodybuilding Championships was a great show. Our own competitors did well this year. Shawna Kondo placed 5th in the A Class figure competition. Glenda Sheppard placed 3rd in the women’s over 35 bodybuilding competition, and Lorna Cavin placed 7th in the women’s over 40 figure class. The show was a success and everyone came away with a warm and positive experience. The show was highly competitive in almost every figure and bodybuilding classes. This show continues to prove itself to be a very tough national qualifier. Congrats to all my team who competed and to all the competitors who made it to the show.

If you would like to see a more detailed article I have posted all the results on my forum along with my comments about he show at: http://www.tadthedietcoach.com/forum/viewtopic.php?TopicID=320

Also, I have posted over 2500 pictures that I took at the show! You can view them in my picture gallery on this site at: http://www.tadthedietcoach.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=7368

2008 Emerald Cup Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Is coming!

Coming up soon is the 2008 Emerald Cup Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness championships. As usual, this event will be held at the Maydenbaur Center in Bellvue, Washington, this should be another great show.Emerald Cup Poster 2008 I have attended this show for many years now and I have to say, both as a coach and a competitor…this is one of the best run shows in the country. Brad Craig, the promoter of this show, really knows how to take care of the athletes who come to his show to compete. This year the show will be held April 18-19th with all of the figure and fitness judging and finals on Friday morning and evening, and all of the bodybuilding prejudging and finals on Saturday. This year there will be Victor Martinez, Melvin Anthony, and Dennis Wolf guest posing. It should stack up to be a wonderful show with lots of excitement. Also, the Emerald Cup hosts an Expo with vendors and free stuff. While it isn’t as big as the Arnold (what is?), it is a nice added touch to come away with a few freebies. Also, Bernadette Marturano, INBF figure Pro and myself will be giving a short figure posing seminar this weekend also. If you are in the Seattle Area this time of the year go to this show, it will be worth it.
